To get a discount on a transaction, please call the Customer Service Centre first before going to the agent location.


How to apply

How to get your card and get started ...

  • Call our free phone Western Union Card Customer Service Centre on 0800 804 8104
  • Visit a designated WU Card Agent Location, taking two forms of ID – photo and proof of address - and fill in a Western Union application form
  • Return it to the agent who will photocopy your ID and give you a temporary paper Western Union Card so you can begin earning points immediately.
  • You’ll receive your plastic card along with a Welcome Pack within 4 weeks.

Acceptable ID for applying

You will need to present a photo ID and a proof of address.
For acceptable evidence of identification, you can use one of the following original documents or certified copies:

  • Current signed passport
  • Current full UK Driving Licence
  • Home Office IND Application Registration Card
  • National ID Card

For proof of current address, you can use one of the following original documents:

  • Most recent Utility bill (e.g. gas or land-line phone)
  • Current UK driving licence or current UK photo card driving licence
  • Bank or Building Society or Credit Union statement or passbook
  • Current Council Tax Bill

We will not pass copies of you ID on to other parties. Please note that normal ID restrictions will apply for send transactions.
