Receiving money with Western Union in the UK

You can pick up money that you’ve been sent through Western Union at any of our 4,000+ agents throughout the UK. To find your nearest agent in the UK, click here.

How to pick up your money:

1. “Fill in the “To Receive Money” Form with the following information:

A. The correct Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN)*.
B. Your full name and current/permanent address in the UK.
C. The full name of the sender.
D. The originating country of the transaction.
E. The approximate amount.

2. Give the Western Union agent the form and an identification document**.

3. The agent will give you the money and a receipt.

* The MTCN is now a mandatory requirement for payout in the UK. If you are the receiver, please ensure that you have obtained the correct MTCN from the sender prior to collecting at an agent location. Without the MTCN we will not be able to pay your money out.
