Telephone Notification
If you are unable to get in contact yourself, Western Union will call your receiver to advise them that their money transfer is available for collection. This service is available in many countries.
Delivery Service
A cheque or banker’s draft is available in a number of countries and can be delivered directly to your receiver on request.
Supplementary Messages
Have you got a special message to send with your money? Western Union can include your message with money transfers to most countries.

Test Question
Worried your money won’t make it into the right hands? If you are sending to Africa only, a test question is a mandatory requirement. It allows a sender to pose a question to which only the receiver would know the answer, thereby helping to confirm their identity.
Please contact Western Union on 0800 833 833 for current information regarding use of a Test Question when sending to African countries.
Test Questions are not permitted in the UK for send or receive transfers to countries other than in Africa.
Lloyds TSB
Whilst we endeavour to pay out transactions in the UK in cash, from time to time it may not be possible. Therefore our sub-agents may issue you with a Western Union cheque, which can be cashed at any Lloyds TSB. Please note that valid ID is required to cash these cheques.
Continental Airlines
Western Union has a special relationship with Continental Airlines that enables you to pay for your airline ticket using the Western Union Quick Pay service for a flat fee of only £10 regardless of principal amount!
How Does It Work?
1. You go to the Continental website or call the airline’s free phone number and book a flight.
2. Choose the Western Union cash payment option.
3. Airline web site/representative will provide the following information:
a. Record locator number
b. Code city/state
c. Total amount due including Western Union transfer fee of £10
4. Go to a local Western Union Agent location with the above information and complete a “Quick Pay/Payment Services” form.
5. Give the form, payment and transfer fee to the agent to processes the Quick Pay transaction.
6. The agent will give you a receipt of payment, and once that is complete will your ticket be sent to you
